Hansa Kumari Malla is the Local Coordinator in Education Planning and Budgeting at the TECSES Karnali Office. She is from Mugu, a remote district in Karnali where TECSES is also working to improve teacher education at the local level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"As the first woman from Mugu district to complete a master\u2019s degree, I understand the challenges children in rural areas face in accessing quality education. Well-trained teachers play a key role in changing their lives and opening opportunities,\" says Hansa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through her role at TECSES, Hansa supports local governments and Local Education Units (LEUs) in Karnali Province by strengthening their capacity to plan and budget for education. Her work strengthens the capacity of municipalities and rural municipalities to address inclusive education needs. Through realistic educational planning and appropriate budget allocation in the education sector, she helps ensure that Karnali offers education that is both inclusive and of higher quality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Hansa, the opportunity to contribute to improving quality education in her own province is important. It allows her to give back to the place she comes from and to help build a better future for the next generation. \u201cBeing able to work closely with communities and seeing the direct impact of stronger teacher education on children\u2019s lives, makes my job meaningful,\u201d she reflects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
